She went on to complete her internal medicine residency at the University of California, San Francisco at Fresno where she gained a strong foundation in complex patient care. After practicing as a hospitalist in Jacksonville, Florida, Dr. Mumtaz advanced her subspecialty training in rheumatology at the prestigious Mayo Clinic in Florida, completing her fellowship in 2025. In recognition of her robust academic contributions and commitment to medical education, she was appointed Assistant Professor of Medicine at the Mayo Clinic College of Medicine and Science, serving from December 2024 to June 2025. In 2025, Dr. Mumtaz founded Remission Rheumatology with the bold mission of closing the patient‑provider gap in rheumatologic care and expanding access to best‑in‑class specialty services across historically underserved communities.
