PAUL TROOST
Family Medicine
About
Dr. Paul Troost, DO, is a family medicine physician with more than 20 years of experience. He earned both his undergraduate and osteopathic medical degrees from Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed his residency in Family Medicine at Metropolitan Hospital in Grand Rapids. Board‑certified in Family Medicine, Dr. Troost has practiced in both rural Michigan and the Lowell community, where he has lived for over 14 years with his family. His clinical background includes a broad range of primary‑care services, minor surgical procedures, and preventive care, with a particular emphasis on personalized, relationship‑based medicine.
Since founding FamilyDoc DPC, Dr. Troost has embraced the Direct Primary Care model to eliminate insurance‑driven barriers. Patients pay a low monthly membership that provides same‑day or next‑day appointments, 30‑ to 60‑minute visits, and unlimited access via phone, text, email, or a secure patient portal. By removing the administrative overhead of insurance billing, he can spend more time with each patient, offer wholesale medication pricing, and provide services such as sports, Coast Guard, and Department of Transportation physicals. Dr. Troost’s philosophy is to act as a “small‑town doc,” fostering a community‑focused practice where patients feel comfortable discussing any health concern.
