While initially drawn to sports medicine, his experiences during medical school and residency reshaped his vision of healthcare. Dr. Platamone’s approach transcends traditional medical treatment. With deep roots in Virginia, Dr. Platamone feels a strong connection to his community. A proud Virginia Military Institute graduate, he relishes Richmond’s culinary scene, local farmers’ markets, and vibrant culture. Outside of his medical practice, he cherishes time with his wife and their three dogs. An avid outdoor enthusiast, he enjoys mountain biking, rock climbing, hiking, soccer, and various forms of exercise. In his downtime, he tends to his garden, plays video games, and indulges in his passion for fine bourbon collection. Together with his wife, they share a love for cooking and exploring new cuisines.
