NICHOLAS NISSEN
Psychiatry & Neurology, Psychiatry
About
Dr. Nick Nissen is a Harvard Medical School‑trained, board‑certified psychiatrist who founded the Nissen Clinic as a Direct Primary Care (DPC) practice to provide personalized, holistic mental health care. He believes that traditional behavioral health models—short, infrequent, medication‑focused visits—often fail to create lasting change, so his clinic offers direct, continuous access through phone, video, text, and even home visits. Patients receive a blend of evidence‑based psychotherapy, medication management, lifestyle coaching, and innovative treatments such as ketamine‑assisted psychotherapy, TMS, and psychedelic‑assisted therapy.
Dr. Nissen earned his MD from Brown University's Warren Alpert Medical School and completed his psychiatry residency at Harvard Medical School’s Cambridge Health Alliance, where he served as Chief Resident of Student Mental Health and researched non‑stimulant treatments for ADHD. He also trained as a CBT therapist at the Boston University Center for Anxiety and Related Disorders. In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Nissen hosts the "Brain Health with Dr. Nissen" podcast and serves as a medical correspondent for ABC News, bringing the latest research on sleep, nutrition, exercise, and lifestyle interventions to a broader audience.
