Dr. Michael Lovelace, MD, MBA, is a Family Medicine physician and the owner of Derby City Direct Primary Care in Louisville, Kentucky. He grew up in a small town in upstate New York and later attended Loyola University in New Orleans for his undergraduate degree in Finance, followed by an MBA from Arizona State University. Before becoming a physician, he worked as a Financial Analyst for a Fortune 500 company, Project Manager for a non-profit institute, and ran a family business (plant nursery) with 45 employees. He decided to change careers and go back to school to become a physician. Dr. Lovelace graduated from the University of Louisville School of Medicine and completed his Family Medicine Residency at the University of South Carolina. He chose Family Medicine because it allows him to treat a wide spectrum of illnesses across all ages. Dr. Lovelace opened his DPC practice because he believes it provides the best opportunity to truly connect with patients and provide quality customer service. He enjoys playing golf, running, and gardening, and spends time with his wife, Rebecca, and their two young children.
