About
Dr. Michael A. Ciampi is a native of Portland, Maine. He earned his bachelor’s degree from The College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, MA, and his medical degree from Tufts University School of Medicine in Boston. He completed both his internship and residency at the Naval Hospital in Pensacola, Florida, and served seven years in the U.S. Navy, attaining the rank of lieutenant commander before returning to Maine to take over his father’s family practice.
Dr. Ciampi now leads Ciampi Family Practice, a Direct Primary Care (DPC) clinic that emphasizes compassionate, personalized primary care with unprecedented patient access. Members receive 60‑minute annual physicals, at least 30‑minute appointments for chronic disease management, and unlimited email, phone, and text communication. The practice prioritizes continuity of care, ensuring patients are seen by Dr. Ciampi himself rather than rotating mid‑level providers.
By operating under the DPC model, Dr. Ciampi eliminates insurance middlemen, allowing him to focus on preventive health, coordinate hospital and home visits when needed, and keep care affordable and transparent for families.
