Dr. Michael Aughey was born and raised in Wisconsin Rapids, WI. He attended UW Stevens Point for his undergraduate degree, graduating with a BS in Chemistry. After working a few years in the private sector, he returned to medical school and graduated from the University of Wisconsin Madison Medical School in 1993. Dr. Aughey completed his residency training in Family Medicine at Wake Forest University in Winston‑Salem, NC, where he served as Chief Resident in 1996. He spent more than 20 years practicing broad‑spectrum Family Medicine before joining Advocate MD. Dr. Aughey believes the patient‑doctor relationship is as important as the medicine itself and is committed to providing high‑quality, relationship‑focused care through the Direct Primary Care model. He lives with his wife Barb (an RN) in Sun Prairie, WI, enjoys hiking, kayaking, cross‑country skiing, and traveling with his three adult children.
