Emergency Medicine

About

Dr. Meghan Galer is a board‑certified Emergency Medicine physician and the founder of ColGACare. She earned her MD in 2011 from the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences in Bethesda, Maryland, and completed her Residency in Emergency Medicine in 2014 at Madigan Army Medical Center in Tacoma, Washington. Prior to medical school she spent ten years as a paramedic with the Bethesda‑Chevy Chase Rescue Squad, and while stationed at Fort Benning she created the world’s first “Heat Center” to study and prevent exertional heat illness. Driven by frustration with corporate medicine, Dr. Galer left the traditional system, embraced the Direct Primary Care model, and opened ColGACare in 2021 to restore the doctor‑patient relationship and provide personalized, affordable care.
