Dr. Maureen Connolly is a native of New Jersey who completed her undergraduate studies with honors at Georgetown University College of Arts and Sciences and earned her M.D. from Georgetown University School of Medicine. She trained at St. Vincent’s Medical Center in Greenwich Village, New York City, where she completed both her internship and residency in Internal Medicine and served a year as Chief Medical Resident. After her training, Dr. Connolly directed the Medical Walk‑in Clinic at El Rio Santa Cruz Neighborhood Health Center in Tucson, AZ, serving a largely Mexican‑American and Yaqui Indian population. She later moved to Iowa City, where she has been an advocate for patients, a LGBTQ‑affirming provider, and a dedicated member of the community.

Dr. Connolly served as Medical Director of the Iowa City Free Medical Clinic from 1997 to 2007 and was a member of the Johnson County Board of Public Health for six years. She later became a partner at Towncrest Internal Medicine, caring for patients of all ages, and now practices at Remedy Internal Medicine, where she embraces the Direct Primary Care model to provide personalized, preventive, and relationship‑focused care.
