Mary Tierney

Dr. Mary Tierney is the Physician and Founder of Walnut Grove Family Medicine. She values relationships with her patients and believes in using science‑based research to guide treatment plans. She offers supplementary modalities such as meal guides, injury‑prevention advice, and community services to help patients meet health and life goals. Dr. Tierney emphasizes a Direct Primary Care model that gives patients direct, uninterrupted access to her, fostering a partnership where patients feel listened to and part of the family.

Dr. Tierney is board certified in Family Medicine and Primary Care Sports Medicine. She graduated from the Milton S. Hershey Family and Community Medicine Residency Program in 2015, serving as chief resident, and then completed a fellowship in Primary Care Sports Medicine through the Fairfax Family Medicine Program. She also pursued training in medical acupuncture at Helm's Medical Institute and has been licensed in acupuncture since 2017.
