Family Medicine

About

Dr. Leigh LoPresti earned his MD from the University of Vermont College of Medicine in 1983 and completed a Family Medicine residency at the Medical Center Hospital of Vermont in 1986. He has been continuously board‑certified in Family Medicine since 1986 and has spent his career practicing in a variety of settings, including HMOs, private practice, and academic institutions. Dr. LoPresti believes that Direct Primary Care (DPC) offers the most personal, accessible, and cost‑effective model for primary care, allowing him to spend longer appointments with patients, provide same‑day access, and include many medications and lab tests in a simple membership fee.

After practicing in Manchester, Vermont from 1991 to 2001, Dr. LoPresti spent a decade teaching residents and medical students at the University of Vermont, UMass Medical Center, Eastern Maine Medical Center, and the Medical College of Wisconsin, while also holding research fellowships. In 2024 he returned to his hometown to launch Manchester Direct Family Practice, a DPC clinic that caps the patient panel at roughly 700 members to ensure high‑quality, relationship‑focused care. He emphasizes direct communication via phone, text, and video, and strives to keep care affordable and transparent for families of all ages.
