About
Lee S. Gross, M.D. is the founder of our North Port practice and a multiple-time recipient of the North Port Sun Readers' Choice award for Best Physician. Originally from Ohio, he obtained his MD from Case Western Reserve University and completed his residency in Family Medicine at University Hospitals of Cleveland, where he was elected chief resident. Dr. Gross has been Board Certified by the American Board of Family Medicine and has served the North Port community since opening the practice in 2002. In 2004, after North Port was denied a hospital by the State, Dr. Gross played a vital role in establishing the 24‑hour emergency care facility, now owned by Sarasota Memorial Hospital, to address the community's needs. He remains committed to expanding affordable access to care for the underserved throughout the region and across the nation through his leadership in innovation and healthcare market reforms. Dr. Gross is a national speaker for Direct Primary Care (DPC), advocating for proven market‑based healthcare solutions. He serves as President of the non‑profit Docs 4 Patient Care Foundation and has testified before the U.S. Senate and consulted with the White House on healthcare reforms. He has held leadership positions in the Charlotte County Medical Society, the Florida Medical Association, and the FMA Council on Medical Economics and Practice Innovation, and has served on the boards of an HCA Hospital, the U.S. Medical Association, and the Chamber of Commerce.
