Dr. Laura Slings, MD is a family medicine physician with over 25 years of experience. She graduated from the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health in 2000 and completed her residency at the Iowa Lutheran Family Practice Residency in Des Moines, IA. Dr. Slings has spent the past two decades practicing family medicine with obstetrics in the Twin Cities north metro, cherishing the relationships she has built with her patients and consistently scoring in the top 10% of the nation for communication skills. She believes that all people deserve to be treated with dignity and respect and values the sacred patient‑physician partnership, emphasizing listening and allowing patients to tell their stories.

Motivated by a desire to spend more time with patients and eliminate the pressures of insurance‑driven care, Dr. Slings founded True North Direct Primary Care. The practice removes middlemen, offers transparent pricing, and provides unlimited access to care through membership fees, embodying the Direct Primary Care philosophy of simplifying healthcare and restoring the doctor‑patient relationship.
