About
John L. Bender, M.D., MBA, FAAFP, is a board‑certified family medicine physician, a Fellow of the American Academy of Family Physicians, and the senior partner and Chief Executive Officer at Miramont Family Medicine in Fort Collins, Colorado. Dr. Bender’s practice embraces a Direct Primary Care (DPC) model that emphasizes affordable, high‑quality care delivered in a single, convenient location. He strives to keep costs low while offering a comprehensive range of services—from preventive health and chronic disease management to nutrition, weight management, and aesthetic procedures—so patients receive personalized, continuous care without the barriers of traditional insurance.
Dr. Bender completed his undergraduate studies at Regis University in Denver and earned his medical degree from Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska (1992). After serving as an Army physician in Kosovo and completing a general surgery internship at the University of California at Davis (1993), he returned to Colorado, where he and his wife, Teresa, purchased a family‑medicine practice in 2002 and built Miramont into a nationally recognized patient‑centered medical home. His leadership extends beyond the clinic: he has served on the board of the American Academy of Family Physicians, held presidencies of the Colorado Medical Society and the Colorado Academy of Family Physicians, and contributed to state legislation on telehealth, immunization registries, and the corporate practice of medicine.
