Dr. James A. Woodmansee, M.D. was born in Colorado and earned his undergraduate degree at Brigham Young University. He completed his medical education at St. George’s University, graduating in 1988, and then finished a Family Medicine residency at Union Hospital in Terre Haute, Indiana. After early practice in rural Washington and a faculty position with the Utah Valley Family Practice Residency program, he joined Cottontree Family Practice in Provo, Utah, where he has been a partner since 2002. Dr. Woodmansee is board‑certified in Family Medicine and provides a full spectrum of primary‑care services, including minor surgical procedures, obstetrical care, and chronic‑disease management, with a focus on the Direct Primary Care model that emphasizes long appointments, continuity, and personalized patient relationships.
He maintains active hospital privileges at Utah Valley Regional Medical Center and Timpanogos Regional Hospital, and he is recognized with multiple Patients’ Choice and Compassionate Doctor awards for his dedication to patient‑centered care. Outside of medicine, Dr. Woodmansee enjoys gardening, music, and spending time with his family in Provo.
