Born in Opelousas, LA, Dr. Shute served on active duty in the United States Navy after high school, then earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. He attended the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine (Georgia Campus) for medical school and completed a Family Medicine residency at Fort Benning, Georgia while serving in the United States Army. His clinical background includes military medicine, emergency medicine, and board‑certified family medicine. Dr. Shute now resides in Lafayette with his wife and seven children, continuing his commitment to patient‑centered care through Elite DPC.
