About
Dr. Dan Surdam was born and raised in Laramie, Wyoming. He earned his undergraduate degree from Colorado College in 1997 and graduated from Creighton Medical School in 2002. He completed a residency in Emergency Medicine at the University of Texas Southwestern at Parkland Hospital in Dallas, TX, and has served as Medical Director of the Cheyenne Regional Medical Center Emergency Department and Operations Manager of Cheyenne Regional Urgent Care. Dr. Surdam is an entrepreneur who founded and now owns Stitches Acute Care Centers, operating clinics in Cheyenne, Laramie, and Wellington, CO.
At Stitches, Dr. Surdam champions a Direct Primary Care (DPC) model that eliminates traditional fee‑for‑service billing in favor of a flat‑rate membership. He emphasizes rapid, convenient access through telemedicine, same‑day urgent care, and a patient‑first mindset that reduces administrative overhead and improves continuity of care. His philosophy is to provide high‑quality, affordable emergency and urgent care while fostering strong relationships with patients and the broader Wyoming community.
Beyond clinical work, Dr. Surdam has led COVID‑19 testing and response efforts, partnered with local health agencies, and advocated for telehealth adoption to increase rural health access. He enjoys golf, fishing, travel, and spending time with his family.
