Family Medicine

About

Dr. Clarissa Allen, a native of St. Louis, grew up in Chesterfield and earned bachelor’s degrees in chemistry and biomedical engineering from Saint Louis University before attending Saba University School of Medicine. She completed her Family Medicine residency at Aultman Hospital in Canton, Ohio. After returning to St. Louis, Dr. Allen worked in a large hospital system, became disillusioned with insurance‑driven care, and joined SproutMD to practice Direct Primary Care. She believes preventative medicine and deep patient relationships are essential to health and wellness, and at SproutMD she offers patients direct, affordable, and immediate access to her care.

Dr. Allen also spent three years serving in a Federally Qualified Health Center with a 20‑bed critical‑access hospital in rural Kentucky, where she learned the importance of caring for underserved populations. She later pursued academic medicine as a faculty member in the Family Medicine residency program at Mercer University School of Medicine, continuing her commitment to community building and medical education.
