About
Dr. Brian Lewis, MD, MPH is a board‑certified Family Medicine physician and co‑founder of Integrative Family Medicine of Asheville, one of the first Direct Primary Care (DPC) practices in the region. He believes that sustainable health care is built on a comprehensive lifestyle approach that integrates nutrition, movement, stress reduction, and personal growth. Since the practice opened in 2011, Dr. Lewis has championed the DPC model, offering patients direct access, transparent pricing, and a partnership‑focused relationship that emphasizes prevention and whole‑person wellness.
Dr. Lewis completed his undergraduate, medical, and public health education at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where he also co‑founded the UNC‑CH Integrative Medicine student group. After earning his MD, he completed a Family Medicine residency at the Mountain Area Health Education Center in Asheville, NC. He has pursued additional training in therapeutic nutrition, thyroid health, yoga, and Chinese medicine, and he regularly speaks at regional integrative medicine conferences. His clinical practice blends conventional family medicine with evidence‑based integrative therapies to personalize care for each patient.
