About

Dr. Amy Capoocia, DO FACOFP, grew up locally and completed her Family Practice Residency at St Joseph’s Medical Center in Reading, PA. She is Board Certified in Family Medicine and Osteopathic Manipulative Treatment. She is trained in all aspects of Family Medicine from infant and child care to women’s health, general adult medicine, geriatrics and dermatology. As an osteopathic physician, Dr. Capoocia embraces the body’s innate ability to heal itself through proper nutrition, exercise and aligning the mind, body and spirit. Dr. Capoocia earned her Doctorate of Osteopathic Medicine in 2003 from University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine, then her Fellow designation in Family Medicine through ACOFP in 2015 and a second Fellowship in Health Policy in 2018. She teaches lectures for the American College of Osteopathic Family Physicians and the Direct Primary Care Alliance, and gives community talks and works at free clinics. She is a wife and mother of five and believes in a patient‑centered Direct Primary Care model that emphasizes long visits, personal connection, and affordable, insurance‑free care.
