Alejandra Alvarez

Dr. Alejandra Alvarez is the dedicated primary care physician at EmpowerMed DPC. She earned her medical degree from the Florida International University Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine in Miami, Florida. While in medical school she held several leadership positions, creating community service projects such as health fairs, an educational health curriculum for a local free clinic, and a student‑run health clinic at a women’s shelter, earning multiple community service awards and the Leonard Tow Humanism in Medicine Award. After completing her family medicine residency at the Memorial Hermann Family Medicine Program in Sugar Land, Texas, she returned to her hometown of Miami to practice primary care and also serves as a hospice physician, guiding patients and families through end‑of‑life decisions. Dr. Alvarez is the physician founder of EmpowerMed DPC, emphasizing longer visits, same‑day appointments, and a Direct Primary Care model that prioritizes personalized, affordable care.
